Metro Green Line Closure

Due to construction of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, rail service to stations on the Metro Green Line between Crenshaw Station and Redondo Beach Station will be shut down for approximately two weeks starting at 9pm on Friday January 4, 2019 through 3 am Sunday, January 20, 2019. 

The following stations on the Metro Green Line will be closed and rail service will be suspended:

  • Crenshaw (This station will be open for eastbound Green Line service to Norwalk only
  • Hawthorne/Lennox
  • Aviation/LAX
  • Mariposa
  • El Segundo
  • Douglas
    Redondo Beach

A free Green Line bus shuttle will be provided to service all closed stations between the Crenshaw Station and the Redondo Beach Station during this time. Bus bays and park-ride lots will remain open at all stations throughout the closure. Service on Torrance Transit Line 5, 8, and 10 will NOT be affected by the closure. Information regarding the closure and shuttle bus schedule will be available on all Torrance Transit buses and our website as well as Metro.net.

 

Metro Blue Line Closure

The Southern portion of the Metro Blue line starting at 103rd St/Watts Towers to Downtown Long Beach will be closed for improvements beginning on January 26th, 2019 until late May 2019. Once this is completed, the Northern portion of the Blue Line will close starting from Compton Station all the way to 7th Street Metro Center until September 2019. 

During both closures, Metro will offer a free local shuttle serving all closed stations. In addition, they will also provide an Express shuttle and Select Shuttle with limited stops at a cost of $1.75.
