Starting in 2026, Torrance Transit is proposing to enhance service on Lines 1 and 6 and introduce a NEW RUBBER WHEEL RED CAR TROLLEY SERVICE inspired by the former Pacific Electric Red Car.
Line 1: Service frequency would increase up to every 20 minutes during weekday peak hours and up to every 45 minutes during weekday off-peak hours and on weekends.

Line 6: Torrance Transit is proposing to increase Line 6 service frequency up to every 30 minutes on weekdays between the Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center and Artesia Station, and introduce new weekend service at up to every 60 minutes between Del Amo Mall and the Artesia Station.

The new proposed rubber wheel red car trolley service would have two routes: the Torrance Trolley and the Beach Trolley. Both routes would provide access to major destinations within the City of Torrance and operate at a frequency of every 15-20 minutes seven days a week.
