Inter-agency Transfers on TAP

Inter-agency transfers are now exclusively being made using TAP cards with Stored Value. Customers must use a TAP card when boarding. The fare for transfer will be calculated and deducted automatically from the TAP card upon second boarding made within 2½ hours of the first boarding.

No more paper transfers will be given out to customers.

Note: If you do not use a TAP card or have sufficient Stored Value loaded on your TAP card when boarding, or if you do not make the second boarding within 2½ hours of your first boarding, you would have to pay full-fare on both transit agencies.

Benefits of the new policy:

  • Everything will be on one card.
  • No need to carry exact change.
  • Transfer fare will be calculated and deducted automatically.
  • No need to worry about losing the paper ticket.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Time between transfers has been extended from 2 hours to 2½ hours.
  • No cost increase.

How does it work?

  • When boarding on your first trip you must use a TAP card to pay with monthly pass or Stored Value.
  • When boarding for your second trip within 2½ hours of your first boarding, use the same TAP card to pay with Stored Value. (The TAP card must have sufficient funds in Stored Value to pay for transfers).
