TAP (Transit Access Pass) is a contact-less electronic fare card that can be utilized as a debit card to pay for fare on Torrance Transit buses and 24 other transit agencies in the LA county region. You can re-use and re-load your card with Torrance Monthly Pass or Stored Value (cash value). To learn more about TAP, go to www.TapToGo.net.

How to use a TAP card?

1. If you do not already have one, buy a TAP card for $2 at our Transit store, online at TapToGo.net or at any TAP Vending Machines and local retail stores.

2. Load the TAP card with stored cash value or Torrance Monthly Pass.
Note: It may take up to 48 hours for the purchased fares to show up on your card.

3. As you board the bus, tap your card against the farebox and wait for a beep, which indicates that your transaction has gone through successfully.

Torrance Monthly pass can be purchased on TAP card between the 25^th and the 14^th of each month.

TAP wrist band

L.A. Metro offers a new line of TAP products called TAP Wearables, which includes the TAP Flex wrist bands, and the TAP Mini key chain fob. TAP Wearables will work the same way as the regular TAP card. You can load Stored Value and passes onto it, and tap it on the buses as you go. The cost to purchase a TAP Flex is $10. TAP Flex wrist band are available at all Metro Customer Centers. All local transit agencies in the Los Angeles area are now accepting TAP Flex.

TAP LA App

TAP is now on your smart phones and Apple watch. Download the TAP LA app from Apple Store or Google Play on your smart phones and pay for your bus fare without carrying an extra card in your wallet. This is a virtual card that is free of cost. Paying for your bus fare is now as easy as holding your phone close to the TAP card reader on the fare box on the bus.

You can now transfer your existing TAP card to your TAP LA app, or purchase a digital TAP card on your phone. Using Apple Wallet to load Stored-Value to your TAP card.

Setup is very easy. Go to TAP-To-Go site to learn how to setup the new digital TAP card on your phone and learn how to use it.
